Still University's Arizona School of Dentistry & Oral Health (ATSU-ASDOH) is seeking applications for a full-time non-exempt Ortho Sterilization / Dental Assistant on the Mesa, Arizona campus.

This position is responsible for sterilizing used instruments in regulation with OSHA and ATSU guidelines, checking instruments in / out of sterilization for dental students, residents, and faculty.

Duties & Responsibilities :

• Complete all equipment sterilization on a daily basis.
• Maintain dental equipment inventory and supply control system as needed.
• Dispense and receive dental instruments to / from faculty, staff, and students.
• Deliver and pick up sterilization carts from Comprehensive Care Units.
• Practice proper PPE safety consistently.
• General administrative duties as assigned.
• Responsible for taking radiographs and i-Cat images as needed.
• Assisting orthodontic residents, students, and faculty while treating live patients.
• Ensuring the dental unit is stocked with supplies as determined by the Dental Assistant Supervisor and / or CCU Director.

Will serve as a dental assistant floating to the clinic floor as needed, as well as clinic dispensary to cover vacations and absences as needed.

The incumbent will float between chairside and sterilization.

Skills & Experience :

• Some college or technical training is required.
• Experience chair-side assisting live patients.
• Familiarity with infection control procedures, sterilization protocol, OSHA standards, and HIPAA regulations.
• Previous inventory / supply room experience, supply chain experience, four-handed dentistry / orthodontic experience.
• CPR certificate.
• Basic computer experience (Email, Excel, Word, etc.),
• Digital x-ray & ICAT,Dolphin software experience.
